Things to Consider When Hiring an Electrician

Monday September 22, 2008

So the old electrical system ain't what she used to be. The switches click and then three seconds later the second click is heard before the light finally comes on. Maybe it's the old game of plug in a cord, watch it fall out of the outlet, and plug it in again. Or better yet, your home's electrical is so bad that the lights dim every time your refrigerator turns on. The only problem is that you've never been electrically inclined and you're not about to start now.

So now the need arises to call an electrician in to save the day and fix all of the defective wiring and devices before the house burns down. But before you pick up the phone book and pick one by closing your eyes, consider these tips. How long will the job take? How much is this project going to cost me? When I hire an electrician, what is included in the price? Should I hire a professional or should I do it myself? These are all great questions to ask.
