When the power goes out unexpectedly, portable generators may be the answer. Portable generators can safely power all or part of your home's power needs if you simply follow a few safety do's and don'ts.
There are many dangerous things to keep in mind when operating these portable generators as well. By observing proper grounding, appropriate electrical connections, fuel filling, and adaquate ventilation techniques, your home's power can continue to flow whether the utility company is powering your home or not. Before you power up your portable generator, make sure that you've looked over the portable generator checklist.
