Here's a look at the newest infrastructure for charging cars that are popping up across the land. As electric cars become more popular and more are on the road, there will need to be chargers to recharge cars. This new initiative to place solar-powered chargers across the nation is the first step in making the electric car a real winner on the road.
According to Gary Cutlack, in an article on charging cars, a company named ChargeMaster, a private company, launched 150 new charging stations, with over 4,000 to be available by the end of 2012.
For a monthly membership of $24.99 and a 90 cents per charge fee, you too can power your vehicles battery in one of these charging stations. So theoretically, if you charge your car once a day, five times a week, for four weeks a month, your monthly bill would be under $50. Compare that to an $80 fill-up at the pump and it makes good sense.
General motors announced this month that they are going to sell an all electric car. It is intended for urban uses initially, but maybe as technology advaces, we'll have a car that doesn't depend at all on foriegn oil companies. Hey, I have an idea! Let's all go green and they can keep their oil!
