LED Light Bulbs...What Are Light Emitting Diode Light Bulbs

The Next Generation of Energy-Saving Light Bulbs!

By , About.com Guide

The new light-emitting diode light bulbs are the way to light the future. These bulbs save even more power than that of their predecessor, the compact fluorescent light bulb (CFL).

These bulbs replace regular incandescent bulbs that range from 45-100 watts. In comparison, they use only 3-13 watts of power and will last up to ten years. This figure is based on using the bulbs an average of eight hours a day over the course of the ten year period. It is said the average incandescent bulb will cost you up to $20.00 a year to light your home, while these new bulbs can do the same for as little as $2.00
