In order to strip the inner plastic core of the coaxial cable, you'll need a pair of wire strippers. I generally use the smallest cutter setting to cut off the plastic core. Place the strippers 1/2" from the end of the cable and squeeze the stripper handles together and twist the handles back and forth to break the plastic loose. Pull the plastic piece off of the end of the cable with care so as not to nick the copper inner wire.
