How to Wire a Telephone Jack

To install the cover on a telephone jack, use a screwdriver and tighten the screw in the center of the cover. Do not over-tighten the screw. Take a telephone that you know works and connect it to the telephone jack. Pick up the receiver and see if you have a dial tone. This is an easy way to test the connection.
