Summertime Safety and Connection Tips For Your Swimming Pool, Spa And Hot Tub

By Timothy Thiele, About.com

Here are a few of my favorite tips for summertime fun and safety with swimming pools and spas. Summertime heat draws everyone to the cool, refreshing water of a swimming pool. And after a hard day of work, it's always a relaxing comfort to sit in a spa and unwind. Safety should always be of concern when dealing with water and electrical connections. Following these guidelines should prove to keep you safe while having fun in and around the water.

Spa and hot tub outdoor wiring should be done up to code and installed properly to keep you safe. By following some basic safety tips, you'll be soaking in the relaxing jets of bubbles in no time at all.

Swimming pool and spa code requirements are in place to be sure that you are safe in and around your swimming pool and/or spa. Safety issues range from overhead power line heights, to underground buried cables to electrical connection connection distances from the water's edge.

For some added swimming pool and spa secrets to installing, maintaining, and supplies for them, Swimming Guide, Mat Luebbers, has put together a nice selection in his article, Pools, Swim Spas - Design, Build, Use, Supply, Maintain Swimming Pools.
